Driving corporate transformation through custom innovation
The RCA designed and delivered a six month custom innovation programme for the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).
40 delegates selected from 10 companies representing sectors such as banking, real estate, petrochemicals, logistics and telecommunications were put into mixed teams to work on real-life innovation projects.
Immersive workshops: from Kuwait to the Royal College of Art
The participants met in Kuwait to take part in a one-week workshop about Creative Leadership and Design Thinking led by Rama Gheerawo, Director of the Hamlyn Centre for Design. One month later, Dr Nadia Danhash, Director of InnovationRCA delivered a business canvas modelling workshop.
InnovationRCA business mentors guided the teams online in the development of their projects. At the end of the course, the delegates visited the RCA in London, where they were introduced to real-life innovation through visits to Barclays, Siemens, London & Partners, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Battersea Power Station. They also attended a series of talks and practical exercises about service design led by Dr Nick de Leon.
Measuring the business impact of design-led innovation
Many of the ideas developed during the programme were subsequently implemented by the companies.
