Amelia Jane Hankin [she/her] is a performance designer, founder of Studio AJH and co-founder of the Office for Speculative Spatial Design [O-SSD].
Studio AJH spans performance design, speculative design, and education. As a performance designer, Amelia has worked predominantly in the theatre industry for over ten years. This intensifies within new writing, immersive storytelling, outreach, and community collaboration and working with young people. Amelia initially trained in architecture before evolving her practice into Performance Design at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the Royal Shakespeare Company. As a scenic designer Amelia has collaborated with a broad range of notable companies, producers, and artists across the UK and internationally. Amelia has taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in spatial design for more than six years alongside mentoring people who have an interest in working as a scenic designer or studying spatial design.
Amelia co-founded the Office for Speculative Spatial Design with Gemma Barton in 2020.
