James Kwang-Ho Chung is an architect and educator. His research focuses on understanding contemporary Korean typologies as spatial apparatus in a paradigmatic way.
James Kwang Ho Chung [AADipl RIBA ARB] is an architect, researcher, and educator who founded the design and research studio Therapeutic Forms and Practices. His work revolves around exploring architectural typologies of healing within a paradigmatic framework. Prior to this, he has been realising many built projects, with strong working experience at Foster + Partners, Grimshaw Architects and Hopkins Architects.
Recently, James' work has been exhibited at various international events. His work on Korean typology, '(Un)Faithful Seouls', was exhibited at the Seoul Architecture Biennale 2021. His latest design and research project, 'Medicinal Architecture', was showcased at the Hyundai ZER01NE exhibition in 2022.
In addition to his role as an Associate Lecturer at the Royal College of Art (ADS 9), James is a Unit Master at the Architectural Association (Diploma 19) and a Design Fellow at the University of Cambridge (MArch). He is an external examiner at the Korea National University of Arts and a programme head for the AA Visiting School Seoul. He has given lectures at various academic institutions in Korea and the UK.
