Now in its 6th year, the CAP Festival is an annual event organised by the MA Contemporary Art Practice students at the Royal College of Art.
Each year students work in collaboration with external partners and institutions to produce a series of events, including a symposium, CAP cinema, radio show, exhibitions, performances, a publication and more.
This year’s theme is focusing on the idea of Aftersense:
Once something is experienced it can then be distorted through its own echo: one understanding of what came before and after the sensation. There is a liminality between experience and memory, this is where AfterSense and its events will place themselves.
CAP Cinema at Genesis Cinema
Thursday 27 March, 3.30pm-6pm
93-95 Mile End Rd, Bethnal Green, London E1 4UJ
A showcase of CAP students’ film work that illuminates the connections between individual consciousness and collective reality, exploring the landscapes of human experience in our fragmented, complex global moment.
CAP FM x Montez Press
Monday 31 March, 2-5pm
Join us in the CAP Seminar Space on Monday 31 March, 2-5pm to listen as a live audience to our broadcast!

Listen live on Montez Press Radio
CAP LIVE
Tuesday 15 April, 12–9pm
The Hangar Space, RCA Battersea
Aftersense - CAP LIVE is an event within CAP FEST that is dedicated to works that are activated with bodies, time, duration, and space.
We are taking over the Hangar Space to run on a 'non-stop', all-day running event from the opening hours of the space. The Hangar space presents many areas that we can assume are different stages - meaning that the start of one work can seamlessly lead into another. This means that the space will be activated by an embodied presence, constantly; there will always be one or multiple LIVE works happening at any point in time, elapsing with the space, audience and each other.
CAP Storytelling at the Theatreship
Thursday 17 April, 7-10pm
South Quay Plaza, Theatreship, London E14 9SH
A free public event, in theatreship starting at 7pm ending at 10pm (excluding bar opening which is 6pm - 11pm). A spoken-word event where CAP artists will experiment with ways of delivery while utilising personal storytelling through live performance.
This event is subtitled linger as an homage to the people who stay too late after the poetry has ended and the bar has stopped serving.
And in the summer....
