Aeropowder is developing novel, multi-purpose materials from chicken feathers.
As a society, we consume a large amount of poultry, and the resulting chicken feathers are a significant waste issue for the industry. However, as a highly engineered biomaterial, Aeropowder believes that feathers are a valuable resource rather than something to be discarded or turned into a low-grade animal feed.
Aeropowder’s aim is to harness feathers' properties to create a range of products, from insulation to structural reinforcement in biocomposites. Additionally, feather-based materials are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
