Carbon Forest Products

Direct Carbon 3D printing for Automotive, Biomedical and Consumer Electronic applications produced from renewable forestry feedstock.

Carbon Forest Products (CFP) have developed and patented the World’s first and only additive-manufactured 3D Carbon with high volume application opportunities in Automotive, Biomedical and Consumer Electronics sectors.

Advanced additive manufacturing (aka 3D printing) is increasingly being incorporated into production processes across a wide range of sectors, and is forecast to grow to $21.5 BN over the next five years at a CAGR of 23%. The main benefits of 3D printing are the reduction in material used, therefore in weight, and the manufacturing of geometries which would otherwise be impossible to produce using conventional methods.

The problem most manufacturers face is that the materials available to the additive manufacturing processes are largely limited to metals and plastics. Advanced carbon materials (including Graphite, Pyrolytic Carbon and Carbon alloys such as Titanium Carbide, Silica Carbide, Aluminium Carbide and Tungsten Carbide) have until now only been manufactured using traditional moulding processes, meaning that the benefits of additive manufacturing have been unavailable to Carbon applications. CFP has overcome that limitation through its patented direct 3D printing process using Carbon from renewable forestry feedstock.

CFP' business model will focus primarily on licensing and material supply.

The CFP team is led by Founder Patrick Morris.
