Gravity Sketch

Sketch in 3D space using augmented reality.

The Gravity sketchpad allows users to create 3D drawings in mid-air and on the go using an augmented reality headset and stylus.

Radio signals track the movement of the stylus using coordinates before these movements are sent to the headset.

The revolutionary sketchpad is made from clear acrylic and was created with designers, architects and sculptors in mind, but the Gravity ream believe this new technology could impact the medical industry in the future.

The Gravity Sketch team of Guillaume Couche, Pierre Paslier, Oluwaseyi Sosanya and Daniela Paredes Fuentes, began working on the project whilst studying for their Masters in Innovation Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art.

Gravity Sketch was publicly unveiled at the RCA Work in Progress Show 2014 and the patent pending innovation (UK Patent Application No. 1401947.9) is being developed at InnovationRCA.

With thanks to the James Dyson Foundation for their generous support.
