Next generation folding e-bikes made from lightweight composites
For many people, space constraints in the home and a necessity for multi-modal journeys make folding bikes a great solution for urban transportation. But folding bikes do not come without their issues. In particular, flex and poor design contribute to a nervous riding experience, and their excess weight can limit portability.
LiteWork Bikes is creating a new generation of aesthetic folding bikes, as pleasurable to ride as they are to fold, through the use of innovative design and materials.
Before establishing LiteWork Bikes, founder James Harness graduated from the RCA’s MA Vehicle Design programme in 2011. He also gained substantial industrial design experience working as a Senior Industrial Designer at Dyson Automotive, and earlier at Bentley Motors, where he supported other VW Group brands including VW, Audi, Porsche & Bugatti. James has secured venture capital funding for LiteWork Bikes from InnovationRCA’s partner, Venrex Investment Management.
