Mannequino

Foldable mannequin displays.

Systematique is developing Mannequino, a mannequin display system that easily disassembles and compacts through zipping and flatpacking enabling easily transportable fashion displays. Bust, waist and full-length figures are made of lightweight, opaque, recycled and recyclable polypropylene that are assembled and disassembled through a quick and easy innovative zipping mechanism which the venture has developed. Conventional mannequins, made from fibreglass often with hazardous environmental impact, are extremely bulky and costly to transport, making any ownership over such display systems, and therefore brand control, difficult.

By compacting to a neat, transportable size, fashion brands can take their own mannequins, to trade shows anywhere in the world, significantly reducing the cost of shipping and storage. Mannequino products replicate the lines of the body better than other lightweight mannequins, hanging clothes more effectively and increasing display possibilities.

The product has a well-defined market of fashion brands, independent retailers and chains, with use across visual merchandising from window to in-store displays.

Conceived by RCA Industrial Design alum Arash Kaynama and RCA Design Products alumna Kelly Sant, Mannequino is developing a series of mannequins, with Zipp – a bust model – the first to launch.
