Research interests
Elise is currently contributing to a cross-institutional research project examining the impact on staff and institutions of undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Teaching Fellowship Scheme.
Previous research interests include Embedding Maths in Creative Teaching. Elise ran CPD courses on this topic for the University of the Arts Awarding Body for many years.
Elise has also written on the subject of repurposing found objects as tools within ceramics and craft practice.
Practice
In addition to her teaching, Elise has been a practicing artist working in ceramics, glass and print since 2007. She currently combines her background in mathematics with her love of colour to produce vibrant geometric forms in parian clay.
Elise’s preferred printmaking process is monoprinting as she loves the dynamic immediacy of producing one-off colourful works, often utilising found objects as surfaces from which to print.
