Grant is a curator and researcher based in London who specialises in Curatorial Theory.
Since the late 1990s, Grant has worked with modern and contemporary art from India, developing the exhibitions Social Fabric in 2012 at Iniva, Lunds Konsthal and Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum Mumbai, (and the Zheijang Art Museum, Hangzhou, upcoming) and Textiles Art and the Social Fabric at the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA) in 2009.
Grant was the Senior Curator at the Institute of International Visual Arts, London (2010–14), Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp (2006–10) and Curator of Visual Arts at Project, Dublin (2001–6).

Grant's recent projects include How We Behave with If I Cant Dance, Amsterdam; Practice International at Iniva, London, Iaspis, Sweden, Casco, Holland (upcoming publication 2016); and Keywords at Tate Liverpool; and the research collaborations Practice International and Tagore, Pedagogy and Contemporary Visual Cultures, which address questions of the transnational through art.
Grant is currently developing a major international research project on Bauhaus global reception histories, which will be central to events marking the Centenary and is a PhD candidate in Visual Cultures, Goldsmiths’ College, University of London.

bauhaus imaginista
Marking the Bauhaus school’s centenary, bauhaus imaginista presumes modernism to be an inherently cosmopolitan project, something that emerged through transcultural exchange. bauhaus imaginista explores correspondences between various reform movements worldwide that believed in art as an agent of social change and traces how each of them redefined design and arts education. I n 2018, bauhaus imaginista explores and discusses these questions with partners in eight countries. In 2019, these debates will be continued at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin . Marion von Osten and Grant Watson, curators and creative directors of bauhaus imaginista , have developed the project with the help of an international team of researchers, artists and designers, as well as institutional partners.
The bauhaus imaginista website provides information and updates about the project’s events and exhibitions in the following years and will regularly publish new material on research processes and results.
