Ian is a creative materials specialist, co-founder and director of Materials Council. Before founding Materials Council, Ian was a materials researcher at Foster + Partners, where he worked on the development of Apple's new Campus in Cupertino, Masdar City Abu Dhabi and Bloomberg's London HQ amongst other projects.
Today, Ian works with architects and designers to help them source, select and specify materials on projects. His work is focussed on reducing the environmental impacts of architectural projects, improving innovation in materials use and creating a beautiful world that enables people to flourish. With Materials Council Ian has worked with a number of prestigious clients including: AHMM, Gensler, CF Møller, Stanton Williams, EPR, Make, Universal Design Studio, Design Museum, Studio Xag, Selfridges, Microsoft and Nike.
Ian shares his findings, fascinations and interests through a wide range of public events, exhibitions and lectures in the UK and abroad.
