Jazzy Olive is a transdisciplinary designer, researcher, lecturer and musician – passionate about visual communication, social change and user-centred design.
Jazzy is an MRes Healthcare & Design graduate from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. During her studies she founded Edna, an all-in-one hub for DA (domestic abuse) care and an ongoing research project utilising AI and user-centred models.
During her studies, Jazzy was part of the Helix Centre cohort, designing human-centred solutions. She also co-hosted post-graduate research workshops investigating the various roles and stigmas surrounding the procreation process, and worked on IDEO briefs.
She now gives guest lectures about research ethics and design for vulnerable populations, alongside her role as a Research Associate on the UNESCO partnership project NEMO (New Economic Models for the Ocean).
Jazzy was previously creative lead within the initial YOU Agency start-up team (formerly known as Cloud Ten), and co-founded the Southampton chapter of Ladies Wine & Design (where she is now Custodian). She is also a Visiting Tutor for MA Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Communication Design & Strategy at Arts University Bournemouth, specialising in human-centred and transdisciplinary design. She has collaborated with the likes of: British Airways, NASA, Anglepoise, Falmouth University, Barclays Eagle Labs, the NHS, Sofar Sounds, Fedrigoni, Varex Imaging, and many more creatives, institutions and agencies worldwide.
