South of the Sea

2022–current

Lisa’s current research-led project is in collaboration with the Zoological Society of London, where she is working with the conservation team led by Professor Samuel Turvey and Dr Heidi Ma to better understand the value of endangered indigenous culture on Hainan Island in China and their oral history on the transformation of the local environment. This knowledge is applied in knowledge and artistic production process of a multi-media installation called South of the Sea looking at alternative ways of co-existing in nature from an ecocentric perspective.
