Confluence: V&A/RCA History of Design MA graduate symposium
Join the V&A/RCA History of Design MA cohort of 2024/25 in celebrating the rich diversity of the discipline of the History of Design at Confluence, a free symposium and publication launch at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The evening includes a series of student-led lectures exploring the major themes that have emerged through the cohort’s research.

10am – 12 noon: Speculative Jurisprudence: Material Imaginaries of Law and Myth-Making
Led by Amanda Hansavathy (MFA Arts & Humanities), this participatory ritual invites you to consider ancestral connections and migrations across time and space. Please bring a small bowl and a small cup to participate. Amanda will have a maximum of 12 sets that can be borrowed on the day.

A day-long event of installations, interactive devices, natural materials and pigment celebrating bees and pollinators. Part of The Bee Friendly Trust’s Summer Solstice Celebrations. Organised by MFA Arts and Humanities students Emma Witter, Eviana Gerousi, Kate Youme, Greta Wu, Louise Higgs and Izabela Beata Kuchta.

Rooted in the legacy of Bethan Huws film Singing for the Sea (1993), this conversation invites artists, researchers and audiences to consider how embodied and entangled forces can shape shared perceptions and open up new forms of cultural resistance and reclamation in the face of ongoing geopolitical and cultural shifts.
