The RCA GREAT Scholarships are open to applications for any one year taught master’s programme and we have one award of £10,000 available for each country for September 2024 entry. All awards will be paid as a tuition fee discount.

Please note that applicants for the GREAT Scholarship must hold a programme offer for an RCA one-year taught Master’s programme and be passport holders of India, Nigeria or Thailand, paying Overseas fees.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

How to apply

You must apply for and receive an offer to study on a full-time, one-year taught masters programme before you can complete a scholarship application. Search for programmes and find out how to apply

Once you have a programme offer and you are sure that you meet the eligibility criteria, please complete this form to register your interest in making an application for a GREAT Scholarship

All Round 1 and 2 offer holders will be invited to complete a general RCA scholarship application in April 2024, asking for more information about you, your circumstances and your goals for the future. Make sure you have enough time to prepare strong answers. We will assess your responses and academic merit when making scholarship decisions. Those with Round 3 offers by 30 April will also be invited to apply for a GREAT Scholarship if you register your interest via the form above, but please note that other RCA scholarships may no longer be available: we therefore encourage you to apply for your programme of choice as early as possible.

GREAT scholarships may be combined with external funding as long as this does not cover 100% of your tuition fees.

GREAT scholarships may be combined with.other RCA scholarships - you do not need to apply directly for individual RCA awards; instead, your scholarship application will be marked against the criteria for all the different scholarships that are available

Successful candidates will be required to represent the RCA and the British Council as an ambassador for the GREAT scheme.
