Sandra has been leading the School as Acting Dean since Professor Adrian Lahoud’s move in May. During this time, she has provided excellent leadership and continuity to the School and takes on this interim role until a new permanent Dean is recruited. There will be a full, open recruitment process for the School’s permanent Dean, and we are aiming to have the successful candidate in place in 2027.

Professor Christoph Lindner, President & Vice-Chancellor, Royal College of Art, said: “I would like to congratulate Sandra on her appointment. I know she will continue to build on the School's considerable strengths and work with colleagues to shape the next chapter.”

Sandra brings more than twenty years of experience in higher education. Before joining the RCA, she was Deputy Head of Architecture at London Metropolitan University, where she also served as Acting Head of School in 2018–19. She has taught architectural design through Live Project Studios since 2000, building a strong reputation for connecting education with practice and community engagement.
