The IAA has three main objectives:

  • embedding a stronger impact culture across the RCA
  • increasing policy engagement
  • enabling agile innovation for researchers

The IAA complements our existing impact, community engagement, and knowledge exchange activities. Through it, we are funding important projects with diverse external partners, from seed funding new collaborations to enabling the impact evaluation of well-established projects. We offer dedicated, specialised impact support to researchers, providing them with opportunities to reflect on how their work can contribute to positive change in the world, and supporting them to develop the skills and capacity to more effectively generate impact from the RCA’s world-leading research and practice.

UKRI Impact Acceleration Accounts are strategic awards that provide funding to support a wide range of institutional impact activities. At the RCA, this includes three strands of internal funding to amplify the impact of art and design in culture, communities, the economy, and the environment:

  • Research Impact Development Scheme (Rapid Response; Supporting Early Career Impact; Developing Policy Impact; Large Scale Impact)
  • Proof of Market and Commercialisation Funding (with InnovationRCA)
  • Impact Fellowships (Community; Policy; Enterprise).

Staff can find out more about Impact Funding on the RCA intranet.
