Georgia’s doctoral research engages community groups, neighbourhood associations, local activists, NGOs, and researchers in Asia, Africa and Latin America to explore the often ignored, democratic dimension of housing demands among the urban poor. This means expanding from a view of material deficit to one that considers the spaces in which alternative processes of production and reproduction are mobilised.

Biography
Georgia holds a Bachelor degree in Architecture from the University of Brighton and a Masters in Architecture from the Royal College of Art. She is currently completing a PhD in Architecture at the RCA.
Georgia leads the Lithium Triangle research studio on the MA Environmental Architecture programme which interrogates the extractive landscape of the Atacama Desert and the social, ecological and economic conflicts that coalesce within. She also teaches on the seminar series which crosses all studios within the course.
Alongside her work at the RCA Georgia also works as an Urban Planning and Design consultant for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
