Dr Ludovica Fales

Ludovica is a practising artist and researcher, exploring forms of subjectivity through contemporary and participatory narratives, through the relationship with film, new technologies and expanded cinema.
Following an MA in Documentary Direction and a PhD in Audiovisual Studies, she teaches documentary practice and theory, experimental and interactive storytelling.

Research interests
Ludovica's research interests revolve around film and new media as a praxis of dissent and resistance, a medium with the potential of challenging the status quo by engaging with non-linear storytelling approaches, and a home for the subaltern identities and bodies. From cinematic codes in the pursuit of a deeply personal, to film that question dominant and disciplinary gazes on class, gender, race and sexuality, ethics of imperfection, practices of self, this is process of becoming common through cinema by combining a de-colonial, and feminist and approaches to film and new media.

Ludovica applies her research interests and approaches in her filmmaking practice, as well as in her installation art practice and in her curatorial practice (the “Other Spaces” art, performance & architecture project, curation the “Image Ouverte” art project)
