Dr Mireille Fauchon is a graphic artist, writer and researcher.
Mireille’s practice-based research often focuses on archival interpretation, visual storytelling and social history with emphasis on anecdotal storytelling and the informal preservation of history within sites of experience. Women’s stories and working-class histories, in the UK context, are of particular interest.

Mireille's practice encompasses physical making, narrative non-fiction writing, and publishing. She often works collaboratively with an interest in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches.
Publications, exhibitions, other outcomes
In 2011, Mireille collaborated with Four Corners Books to produce a newly interpreted edition of The Prisoner of Zenda by Anthony Hope, which was published as part of their Familiars Series.
Current and recent projects
Mireille is co-author, with Rachel Gannon, of Illustration Research Methods (2021) and author of Illustration, Narrative and The Suffragette: An Illustrated Enquiry (2024). The latter is informed by her PhD research, a scholarly investigation of the suffragette Katie Gliddon’s Holloway prison diaries, both are published by Bloomsbury. Mireille is also co-editor of JOAN, a publishing project for contemporary writing with a focus on literature with art sensibilities
