Setting up your RCA account

Once your place is confirmed, we'll send you instructions on how to activate your RCA student account. This will give you access to email, digital learning tools, and key RCA platforms.

Activating your RCA email

We’ll first contact you via your personal email. Once your RCA email is active, it will be your main channel of communication with us, so please be sure to check your mailbox regularly for updates.

Student accounts are created from the beginning of August, so please keep an eye on your inbox (and junk folder) for an email with the subject line: Welcome to the RCA - Account Registration Details.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To protect your data, the College uses Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). You’ll set this up during your first login after receiving your activation email.

How to connect to Eduroam Wi-Fi

RCA staff and students can use the Eduroam WiFi network on campus and at participating universities worldwide. Visitors from those institutions can also connect to Eduroam while at the RCA.

Guest WiFi

For visitors without an RCA email, Guest WiFi offers temporary access for short-term guests and visiting academics.

Key tools and platforms

Google Workspace

The College uses Google Workspace for cloud-based collaboration and productivity. It helps staff and students work together efficiently.

Zoom

Zoom is our primary platform for video meetings, enabling easy virtual collaboration through video, audio, and screen sharing.

Moodle

Moodle is our hub for online courses, assignments, forums, grades, and more. It also links to tools like Celcat (timetables), Panopto (recordings), Padlet (portfolio work), and ShopRCA.

Student Printing

You can print from any student-facing computer to Toshiba printers using your RCA login and ID card. Printing is also available via email or USB from mobile devices.

Office 365

Office 365 provides access to tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for easy collaboration and cloud-based work on or off campus.

How to stay safe online

  • Use strong, unique passwords
  • Enable two-factor authentication.
  • Avoid unknown links.
  • Keep software updated.
  • Never share personal information on untrusted sites
  • Watch out for spam emails - don’t open them, and be sure to report anything suspicious to the IT Service Desk
