Shoal of Xellyfish

Xellyfish is a creature-like device which extracts microplastics from throughout the water column.

The Xellyfish system lends itself to being changed constantly depending on the need for it in a given location - growing and shrinking in a way that recalls populations of natural species who also inhabit the landscape.

An intervention made using a shoal of Xellies can be continuously re-sized to suit the fluctuating needs of the ecosystem.

This design methodology offers a new take on how we might better look after the dynamic habitats that we share.
